- Adult Tobacco Survey (ATS)

The Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion of the Southern Nevada Health District conducts an Adult Tobacco Survey (ATS) every two years in Clark County to determine people’s thought and feelings (both smokers and non smokers) about various tobacco control movements. The questions in the survey are developed out of their office, in conjunction with the Gallup Organization, and are actually administered by trained Gallup professionals. This is a reputable survey that helps determine exactly where the Health District will put their resources and what programs they will run in the community. In both the 2003 ATS and the 2005 ATS, they asked survey respondents if they lived in apartments and if they supported policies that designated blocks of apartments as smoke-free. Here are the results:

2003	32% of adults report living in an apartment or MUH 60% of adults agree with policies that designate blocks of apartments as smoke-free
2005	30% of adults report living in an apartment or MUH 63% of adults agree with policies that designate blocks of apartments as smoke-free
